The brief was to keep the look and feel of Bean There but also to give Cape Town branch its own personality. I believe we achieved this successfully by designing the espresso bar, shelving and trademark lampshades in the same style. However in Cape Town the space allowed for more seating giving us the opportunity to use more fabrics and have fun with colour. The predominant colours are peacock blues and acid greens with splashes of red all set on a very clean white canvas. The colours are pulled together beautifully with the help of the custom made Goet jacaranda stools. A really fabulous South African furniture design company. We also used other great South African textiles from Skinny La Minks and So Kiff. All in all our aim was to create a welcoming, interesting and visually exciting space which makes who ever visits it feel at home we hope they keep returning again and again.
