Dulux invited their contractors, specifiers, architect etc to their Green day, which was held at Southern Sun in Cape Town on the 9th of November 2010. The Dulux Green day was hosted by Anna Oliphant who is the brand custodian of the Dulux sustainability and Eco- friendly products. She spoke about the Dulux sustainability business strategy called `a step towards greener, which explains Dulux approach and recognizes that there are no instant fixes but acknowledges that progress will be made by making many step – wise improvements to reach Dulux`s sustainability goals. The way we achieve this is also important and we are committed to step towards greener with openness and honesty added Oliphant.
The Dulux green day ways very informative, as Dulux objective was to educate their customers about the importance of saving the environment and also share their Environmental product offerings and solutions. Dulux is all aware of the impact of chemicals on the environment. They have created a new range of environmentally friendly paints which delivers on their step towards greener promise. |

One of the biggest environmental issues facing the paint manufacturers today is that of VOC`s. Dulux made an effort to explain what Voc`s are and impact of them on the environment. VOCs are solvents that help determine the viscosity, flow and drying time of paints. VOCs readily evaporate into the atmosphere, potentially causing air pollution as well as contributing to global warming. Dulux has embarked on various initiatives throughout the years to align ourselves with global VOC standards. These initiatives have included the introduction of water based products. Dulux is truly a leader in sustainability. |
